Jennifer Lopez wrote about “negativity” in a new edition of her newsletter, On the J.Lo.
The newsletter follows the debut of her latest film, Atlas. Despite receiving negative critical reviews, the new Netflix movie marks Jennifer’s fourth streaming success in the past two years, with approximately 60 million views.
In the film, J.Lo portrays Atlas Shepherd, a counterterrorism agent tasked with combating an AI soldier.
“Hi everybody, I just found out some great news and it’s all because of YOU!!” she wrote. “ATLAS is #1 worldwide again this week!!! Thank you all so much!!!”
“It may seem like there’s a lot of negativity out in the world right now…but don’t let the voices of a few drown out that there is soooo much love out there. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I love you all so much.”
The message is a marked departure from J.Lo’s previous newsletter, where she announced that her low-selling upcoming This Is Me… Live tour was canceled.
“I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down,” she wrote, with a statement further adding, “Jennifer is taking time off to be with her children, family, and close friends.”
Of course, all of this is happening amid rampant speculation surrounding the state of her marriage with Ben Affleck. The two were photographed kissing one another on the cheek earlier this week at Ben’s son’s basketball game, but have yet to comment officially on the rumors.
Atlas is now streaming on NETFLIX.
